Netflix and Dreamworks Studios have released an official trailer for their upcoming reboot of an animation series, Voltron : Legendary Defender. This 13 part series is about five heroes who get their own lion bots and are the last line of defence for Arus and other planets against King Zarkon and his evil alien force. Co-executive producer Lauren Montgomery told USA Today “We’re trying to keep as much of that classic feel to it as we can, because ultimately we have huge amounts of nostalgia for (the original) show,” Other producers chimed in the series will aimed at wide range of age group. They were aiming for ‘Game Of Thrones feel with humour’. Some of the encounter facing the Voltron will be more dangerous than others, they added. The voices behind the series includesKimberly Brooks as Princess Allura; Rhys Darby as Coran; Josh Keaton as Shiro, Black Lion; Tyler Labine as Hunk, Yellow; Jeremy Shada as Lance, Blue Lion; Bex Taylor-Klaus as Pidge, Green Lion; and Steven Yeun as Keith, Red Lion. The original Voltron Japanese animation series was aired in the US between 1984-1985 that becomes a pop culture on its own right. There were several attempt of reboot since, the last of which by Nickelodeon’s Voltron Force which lasted 26 episodes in 2011. The 13 episodes Voltron: Legendary Defender will premiere on Netflix June 10.
