The Amazing Spider-Man 3 that never was…

According to IGN, Denis Leary was set to play Captain George Stacy again for The Amazing Spider-Man 3. You read right! Captain George Stacy would be coming back, along with a few other of Spidey’s loved ones and not in a flashback or dream sequence either!  It was part of a plot to use some sort of serum to bring back those who were already deceased.

“Possibly in 3, there was this idea at one point that Spider-Man would be able to take this formula and regenerate the people in his life that had died. So, there was this discussion that Captain Stacy would come back even bigger in episode 3.”

Marc Webb was a little bit of everywhere with the direction he was going with The Amazing Spider-Man, more-so The Amazing Spider-Man 2. But I believe and pretty much all of the internets agree, it was due to some pressure from the studio to do so much, to lead into so many other things (Sinister 6 anyone!?). I guess the world will never know what would’ve been with The Amazing Spider-Man 3… Apparently Sony was tossing ideas around when those leaked e-mails hit the internets, thinking of resurrecting Gwen Stacy. To continue to the thought, would Peter Parker have resurrected Uncle Ben, Gwen Stacy, her father Captain George Stacy and even his parents???
