When Steven Spielberg’s Raiders Of The Lost Ark hit the theatres in 1981, the film made a huge impression on movie goers before the character Indiana Jones become a cultural iconic phenomenon. The film made a bigger impression on three 11 year-old boys from Mississippi by the name of Chris Strompolos, Eric Zala and Jayson Lamb. So much so the three teenagers over the course of 7 summers decided to recreate the movie shot for shot as a tribute to their favourite film. They did every shot except one final scene, The Flying Wing scene. 25 years later with the help of film makers Jeremy Coon and Tim Skousen, the now three grown men with the original cast return to finish that one last scene. The original title of their film is Raiders Of The Lost Ark : The Adaptation. The film become an instant favourite among the geeks when director Eli Roth(Inglorious Basterds) get the film into the hand of popular film critic Harry Knowles on his Ain’t It Cool News website. Raiders: The Story Greatest Fan Film Ever Made will be hitting selected theatres and home video on June 17th, just in time for Raiders Of The Lost Ark 35th Anniversary.
