Playing Microsoft’s Solitaire Becomes World Event

I have done it. You have done it. I’m sure even your parents have done it. You’re supposed to be busily working on your task list, but instead you sneak over to the Games folder and open the classic productivity killer: Solitaire. Microsoft debuted the game in their Windows 3.0 OS rollout. It’s been 25 years since, and to celebrate the milestone Microsoft is putting your hours of procrastination to the test.

It began yesterday; Microsoft employees began the internal phase of the competition. In early June, the world will get their turn with the tournament and challenges. The game now boasts five variations: Klondike, FreeCell, TriPeaks, Spider, and Pyramid, all incorporate into the event with different challenges. World users will get the chance to go head-to-head with the winners of the employee competition.

Are you game?
