NBA 2K16 could potentially feature NCAA teams?!

2K16 has gone and done something unusual, they have licensed 11 college teams, here are the 10 we know something about: Arizona, Arizona State, Connecticut, Georgetown, Kansas, Louisville, Michigan, Texas, UCLA, Villanova and Wisconsin. There is an 11th team, but it wasn’t mentioned. We haven’t had an NCAA game for a while, due to the Ed O’Bannon lawsuit.

Darren Rovell reported that it is true, via twitter:

The speculative part of things, is how the college teams will be incorporated into the game. One of the popular parts of playing the 2K line of games, is the MyPlayer part of the game. Where one can create a customized player and choose where he attended colleges, height, weight, hair color, eye color, ear size, hair type, bald, ears and a few other things. My guess would be this is where they would implement using the college teams. Either that or have MyPlayer go through college for a couple of games before the NBA Draft. Til we get closer to the game’s actual release date, all we can do is speculate at this point.
