So you think modern technology is a good thing?
Why don’t you ask the Newton Family? You see, they bought a Roomba (That’s one of those things that you set off vacuuming your house all by itself, but you didn’t already know). They have a four-year-old (and we all know how messy they are!), and a puppy that sheds its fur everywhere and also does other things – as the family found out…
You guessed it, the Roomba found Evie the puppy’s ‘little package”. When Jessie Newton awoke one morning earlier this month, “’every conceivable surface’ was coated in dog waste resembling a ‘Jackson Pollock poop painting'”, he wrote on Facebook. “It will be on your floorboards. It will be on your furniture legs. It will be on your carpets. It will be on your rugs.” Newton helpfully posted a graphic of the destruction. “Those awesome wheels, which have a checkered surface for better traction, left 25-foot poop trails all over the house.”
As it turns out the Roomba has quite a knack for doing this: it turns out makers iRobot were not surprised. “Quite honestly, we see this a lot,” a spokesman told the Guardian. “We generally tell people to try not to schedule your vacuum if you know you have dogs that may create such a mess. With animals anything can happen.”
So, are you planning on getting a Roomba? Have you got one? Had a catastrophe with one? Let us know (we’ll try not to laugh!)
