A true legend in horror, today Wes Craven passed away after a long fight with brain cancer at the age of 76.
At a time when horror flicks were not much more than men in masks hacking and slashing at teens, Craven redefined the genre with Nightmare on Elm Street. Later, his Scream movies served as much as commentary on horror as they did as horror movies themselves.
Anyone that enjoys horror, knows Wes Craven, with a career that spans back to 1972 and involves such classics as the aforementioned Nightmare on Elm Street and Scream franchises, as well as The Last House on the Left, The Hills Have Eyes, Swamp Thing, Chiller, The People Under The Stairs and many more not listed here.
Horror fans lost a legend with the passing of Wes Craven. He will be missed.
