Garry Shandling Dead at 66

Actor and comedian, Garry Shandling has passed away at the age of 66. The cause of death has not been released, however it seems he passed away in an LA hospital following a medical emergency.

Garry Shandling was most well-known for his self-referencing work It’s Garry Shandling’s Show, and his sardonic comedy The Larry Sanders Show. Both won Emmy’s in their time, and the latter helped paved the way for future HBO original programming like The Sopranos, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Entourage, and Game of Thrones. His shows fed on the wry side of life, and helped the unlucky in love laugh at their misfortune.

His recent career involved a recurring role as Senator Stern in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Iron Man 2 and Captain America: The Winter Soldier. It’s his comedic influence, however, that is most felt and will be deeply missed.

Rest in peace, Garry, and thanks for the laughs.
