Rumor has bee circling for week about a possible return of the hit series ‘X-Files’ to television, but nothing official had been made. Nothing official that is, until today. Fox has announced that the show will be returning after a thirteen year hiatus.
According to TechnoBuffalo:
“Both David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson are set to return, reprising their roles as Fox Mulder and Dana Scully. This is amazingly good news for fans of the show, but even better news for fans of the supernatural. The X-Files has become a cult favorite among sci-fi fans, and the fact that it’s returning is like a dream come true.”
The X-Files will make a comeback with a six episode event. The creator of the show, Chris Carter, said to think of it as “a 13 year commercial break” and that the long lapse between episodes will benefit the show as “the world has only gotten that much stranger, a perfect time to tell these six stories.”
The show does not have a release date as of yet, but rest assured we will keep you informed as soon as one is announced.
So UTBGeeker’s, how excited are you to see the return of such an iconic series? If you have not seen the first nine seasons, now is the perfect time to do so.
