Zombie fans rejoice! AMC announced, not unexpectedly, that it would be renewing it’s top-rated hit ‘The Walking Dead’ for a sixth season. The TV station announced the extension of the television series right before the premiere of Season 5. Robert Kirkman, creator of the comic book on which the show is based, is working on the pilot for a potential Dead companion series.
“In advance of Sunday’s Season 5 premiere, AMC proudly confirms a sixth season order of this extraordinary series,” AMC president Charlie Collier said in a statement. “Thank you to Robert Kirkman, Scott Gimple, the terrific executive producers, and the entire team who brings this compelling world and these rich characters to life. There’s plenty more Dead ahead thanks to their impressive, collective effort.”
However, before we get Season 6, there is Season 5. So in the meantime, prepare yourself for the season 5 premiere (October 12th) and know ‘The Walking Dead’ is here for the long haul.
