Marvel’s Agent Carter(Hayley Atwell) is not your regular superhero with a super power. She is one smart and tough fierce super agent of Strategic Scientific Research. A period before science and technology unleashed its ‘roid rage onto the world. She is also the first love interest of Captain America before he went buddy up with Tony Stark in the modern world. Incidentally she is also a good friend of Howard Stark, Tony Stark’s father. The television series sets itself apart from the rest of Marvel series, if not the rest of TV land. It has the old Hollywood “film noir” feel to it. Dark atmosphere with fast-talking characters à la Humphrey Bogart, Ingrid Bergman, Lauren Bacall in films like Casablanca and To Have and Have Not. The ten episodes of season 2 transplant the super agent from New York to L.A. Once again, Peggy Carter assumes a woman’s submissive role on the surface while solving crises and kicking asses behind the scenes with her sidekick Edwin Jarvis(James D’arcy), Howard Stark(Dominic Cooper)’s loyal butler. Chad Michael Murray and Enver Gjokaj return as Agent Jack Thompson and Agent Daniel Sousa, probably promoted to Director and Supervisor of SSR keeping an eye on Peggy Carter who often has gone rogue on her investigations.
