Might and Magic: Heroes 7

That’s right.  You heard me.  Seven!

Ubisoft launched a new website on the 11th of August.  It was a site building to a release of Heroes VII for 2015.  https://mmh7.ubi.com/en/blog.

While still in the early days, you have the chance to vote for your favourite factions in the game.  Haven, Academy, Stronghold and Necropolis are already in there as staples, but the battle is on for Sylvan and Fortress.  If you have a Ubisoft account, you can log in and vote for your favourite.  So head on over and take a look.

For those of you who are new to the Might and Magic Saga, the franchise has been going hot and cold since 1986 when Might and Magic I: Secret of the Inner Sanctum hit the shelves.  Over the next twenty-nine years, nine more Might and Magic episodes came along (admittedly with a twelve year break between nine and ten) with the various owners of the franchise.  Alongside that, in 1995, New World Computing gave us an RPG which was a turn-based strategy game Heroes of Might and Magic.  Heroes spawned six editions over the course of seventeen years as the franchise went from New World to 3DO to Ubisoft.  With many turn based spin-offs (Kingdoms, Heroes Online, Clash of Heroes, Duel of Champions and Dark Messiah) to accompany it’s core game line, the Might and Magic series has cemented itself in gaming history as one of the most enjoyable strategy franchises.  In this group there has been something for everyone.  Some players have loved one edition so much that they even created a fan-based add-on.  http://wog.celestialheavens.com/

Heroes VII looks to be another exciting chapter in a very successful Strategy franchise.  I for one am certainly looking forward to it.
