A video game adaptation of the classic Apocalypse Now movie.
It was 1979 when the world got to witness Francis Ford Coppola’s classic Apocalypse Now. Now, that Apocalypse is ready for a video game. And you can help.
A team of game developers that have previously worked on such titles as Fallout: New Vegas, Wasteland 2, and others are now working to bring this adaptation to life.
It’s far from the first time we’ve seen a movie transported to a video game, in fact it’s pretty common. But there is something special about this adaptation. This isn’t just a group of for hire game designers pushing out a mediocre product to hit the market as the movie hits the theaters. This is a classic movie, and this team of developers are more focused on bringing a great game to the public instead of just a payday.
But will it be true to the source material? I think it’s safe to say it will. Within this team that is bringing this project to Kickstarter is none other than Francis Ford Coppola himself. I think it’s safe to say no one else would have a better grasp of Apocalypse Now than the artist that originally created it.
Don’t expect any run of the mill shooter. In fact, the team makes it perfectly clear in their video that this will not be a shooter at all. It will be more about stealth and sneaking as Captain Willard makes his way to Colonel Kurtz.
Want to join in on the project? Head to Kickstarter now. Game rewards start at $35.
